Colds have been popping up around the school recently. Many people have gotten colds and some of contracted bronchitis. Nurse Mrs. Malone said, “It’s common this time of year, especially with change of seasons.”
There are a variety of symptoms for the common cold. These include congestion, sinus pressure, runny or stuffy nose, sneezing, headaches, coughing, sore throat, and trouble breathing.
Common symptoms of bronchitis include coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath, stuffy or runny nose, sore throat, sneezing, and chills. Cough drops and cough syrup can help suppress a cough.
Sophomore Chase D. who got a cold said, “I think it’s awful everyone is getting sick.”
Nurse Malone said, “[The best way to treat a cold is with] hand washing, avoiding crowded places, getting rest, fluids, and do not share water bottles.”
