Sports Roundup 10/17
Boys: On 10/10, Boys Cross country had a meet against Hingham, here in Duxbury. Duxbury’s fastest time for the 5,000 meters was 16:42, while Hingham’s fastest was 16:43. Their next meet is 10/17 at Scituate High School.
Girls: Girl’s Cross country won against Hingham 17-44 on 10/14. Their next meet is against Scituate on 10/17.
The Duxbury Dragons vetoed any chance of the Quincy Presidents winning in their game last Friday beating them 45-14. Hingham Harbormen will have to batten down the hatches as the Dragons fly into Higham this coming Saturday.
Field hockey beats Whitman Hanson on 10/16 with a final score of 6-0. Their next match is scheduled on 10/17 against Norwell.
Xaverian Brothers beat Duxbury 231-253. Their next match will be against Sandwich on October 17. Their final regular season match is October 18.
Friday’s home game against Case High School went well for girls volleyball, with a 3-2 win. They played Silverlake Monday, at home, winning 3-0. Their next home game is Wednesday, 10/18 at 5:30 against Hingham. On Friday, another match will be played at Whitman-Hanson Regional High School.
Girls: This weekend, the Duxbury Crew team competed in the New Hampshire Championships in Pembroke, New Hampshire. The girls’ team had one boat in the Womens Jr 4+ A Flight, which placed sixth overall and three boats in the Womens Jr 4+ B, C, and D Flight, which placed third, fourth, and sixteenth overall. The girls also raced an 8+, which placed 12th overall.
Boys: On the boys’ side, the boat entered in the A flight placed fifth overall in their race while boats in the B,C, and D flight placed fourth, eleventh, and twenty-second. The boys also raced an 8+, which placed fifteenth in their race.
Next weekend, select members of the team will race in the Head of the Charles Regatta on Sunday October 22. Find full results of the New Hampshire Championships here.
The boys won both of their games last week improving their record to 10-0-2 in the league.
They won 5-0 against plymouth south on 10/11 and again two days later beating Quincy 4-0 on 10/13. On Tuesday the 17th, the boys soccer team will face one of their tougher competitors, Silver Lake, at 5pm on the road.
Girls: Last Wednesday, girls soccer clinched a 1-0 win against Plymouth South, followed by another 1-0 win for their homecoming game against Quincy this past Saturday. For more details click here.
