Patriots vs Steelers The Battle Between The AFC Superpowers
The New England Patriots will play the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday December 17th. This game has huge AFC Playoff implications. The Steelers (11-2) currently have possession of the first AFC playoff seed with the Patriots (10-3) having the second AFC playoff seed. If the Patriots win they will be tied with the Steelers for the number one spot in the AFC playoffs, with a first round bye and home field advantage.
The Patriots, coming off a loss in Miami to The Dolphins are hoping to have many injured players, mostly defensive, back to help them against the Steelers. The list of inactives against the Dolphins was a long one in which included: Mike Gillislee, Marcus Cannon, Trey Flowers their leading pass rusher, Kyle Van Noy their leading tackler, Brandon King, David Harris, and Cole Croston. Most players will hopefully be healthy for the game against the Steelers except for Marcus Cannon, who was placed on injured reserve yesterday most likely ending his season.
The Steelers are not without injuries with Vance McDonald recently injured in their game against the Ravens. Joe Haden and Tyler Matakevich were recently back at practice listing themselves as questionable for Sunday’s game.
Hopefully the returning defensive players can help both team’s defenses which are in the bottom half of the league.
The Steelers will be playing in part for Ryan Shazier who had a scary neck injury two weeks ago needing spinal stabilization surgery.
I, myself, see the game going in the Patriots favor with a score of 45-31. The game will be played on Sunday December 17th at 4:25pm in Pittsburgh.
