On February 4th at 6:30 pm the Patriots will be playing for their 6th Lombardi Trophy. They will be playing the Philadelphia Eagles who will be led by their backup quarterback Nick Foles. However, Foles is no joke having thrown for 352 yards and 3 touchdowns in the Eagle’s blowout win against the Minnesota Vikings to get them to the Superbowl. If the Patriots win they will tie the Steelers with the most Super Bowl victories, while the Eagles will be looking for their first Super Bowl win.

Nick Foles has been a source of concern for Philadelphia fans since their starter Carson Wentz tore his ACL in their week 14 game against the Los Angeles Rams. However, in recent weeks, he has silenced all doubters to get the Eagles to the Super Bowl. Tom Brady has also silenced his doubters all season showing that he has still got it at age 40.

After the final injury report was released Wednesday each team has notable players listed. The Patriots with Malcolm Butler, Rob Gronkowski, Brandon King, and Deatrich Wise listed and the Eagles with Tim Jernigan, Jay Ajayi, Fletcher Cox, and Dannell Ellerbe. Gronkowski cleared the concussion protocol yesterday and is officially active for the Super Bowl, all other players are expected to play. Each team has their IR list with players who are not playing, putting both teams at less than full strength.

The Patriots have the more Super Bowl experienced team with 32 of their players having Super Bowl experience while the Eagles having less than a dozen. While it is nice to have players who have experienced the Superbowl before, it can not be considered a major factor. It will be interesting to see if players will be affected by their Super Bowl excitement/nerves.

With all the media days, game analysis, and hype surrounding the game the only thing that will matter is: the game.

My score prediction: 35-21 Patriots
