On October 27th at the Tree of Life/L’Simcha Congregation in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a mass shooting occurred where a gunman opened fire, killing eleven people, and wounding several others while the morning service was being held.

The attack occurred in the Squirrel Hill neighborhood of Pittsburgh, and was the deadliest attack on the Jewish community in America in history.

Since the Pittsburgh tragedy, there has been yet another shooting in Southern California involving survivors of the Las Vegas shooting last year.

“It is very unfortunate that these kind of things can still happen in the present day, but I also think that whenever something terrible like this happens, everyone sort of bands together to help each other out and care for each other afterwards,” said Paige M.

Many people in Pennsylvania, and all over the country came together to support the victim’s families, and express their thoughts of sympathy and togetherness.

“Unfortunately, these shootings seem to have become ‘normal’ in America in 2018.” said Chris B. “I want that to change.”
