Black Friday: A Customer’s Perspective
By: Melanie L.
For the first time ever, I went Black Friday shopping. It proved to be a terrifying experience.
Things started off easy enough. I arrived to the Kingston Collection Mall around noon and was able to find a parking spot easily. When I went inside the mall, I was surprised. It wasn’t as bad as I was expecting. As I was shopping for clothes, I felt very rushed because I was quickly going to every store because I felt like I didn’t have enough time when in reality most of the stores are open till 1am.
The day turned sour when we left the Kingston Collection Mall and drove to the Independence Mall in Plymouth. The only store I was interested in was Ulta, which is a makeup store. However, I was having trouble just trying to get inside. The parking lot was a nightmare. Every time I saw an open spot, another car would swoop in front of me and take it. Finally, I found a parking spot and made my way into what turned out to be a very busy story. To make matters worse, I didn’t end up getting anything on sale but I still was very happy with my purchase.
I don’t see myself going Black Friday shopping next year and if I do it will be for my friends and family and not for me.
