At Duxbury High School, junior William T. is hitting play on his new film club this year.
The film club is new to DHS this year and has already attracted many members.
“There are roughly 15 and growing in the club,” said William T.
Film club is about writing and creating movies. Members will write scripts, direct, and act in short movies created by the new organization.
The club plans on playing one of their films during iLab as an advertisement to attract more members.
“[A film club] was created earlier this year but died due to a lack of interest in the leadership,” said William T. “Then I came in, enthusiastic and with too many ideas to handle and way too much time on my hands and decided to start the club.”
This is Duxbury’s first club to provide opportunities for filmmaking.
“I’ve always liked watching movies and I’ve always wanted to make one myself and I’m glad I finally can,” said junior Cameron P.
The club is hosted by Dragon TV and TV Studio teacher Mr.Ferguson but is mainly lead by the student president William T.
The club plans on making any and all types of films and takes suggestions from its members on what they will make next. This flexibility allows for a lot of creativity from students.
Any student can join the club and it meets on Tuesdays after school in room B350.
