School Favorite Ski Resorts
By Ryan H.
In the later months of winter, as people get more and more used to the cold weather, ski resorts become more valid choices for spending vacation hours. Being in the center of New England has given many Duxbury High School students more opportunities to visit these resorts than most other parts of the country would have.
Nathan B., a senior at DHS, states that he prefers visiting Okemo in Vermont, “because it’s big, and I like having a lot of tracks to choose from,” he said. “I go with my family and friends bi-weekly during the ski season.”
For Garrett H., another senior at DHS, his resort would be Bretton Woods in New Hampshire.
“It has a great mountain with a lot of availability, like if some slopes are not available, you still have plenty of routes to follow.”
Some students have traveled to a wide variety of resorts, as Henry F. states that his “top five would be Whistler, Sunday River, Snow Mass, Loon, and Aspen. They have big mountains, beautiful surroundings, good ski towns, good trails, and nice lifts.”
From Stowe to Jay Peak, students across DHS are off racing down the many ski slopes available here in the northern regions.
